These are the things that I am currently praying for. You are more than welcome to join me! I will try to update this page as prayers are answered!
I fully believe in the power of prayer. When Harper was sedated in the NICU I had a really hard time sitting with her. It was hard to watch her cry in pain. Her pain was well managed; but, as a mother, it's still hard to see anything wrong with your child. I didn't know what to pray for at that point, so I just asked that God would take her somewhere else. To help her fall asleep and meet her in her dreams. Play with her, hold her, and give her joy. If you believe in God then you have to believe He can do anything. The next time I came to see her was the first time I saw her smile. She was dreaming.
Jessica's Prayer Journal:
- Traveling to Boston on May 10th - We made it!
- Harper's health leading up to surgery - She was healthy and happy!
- Strength and rest for our family before surgery - I didn't sleep a wink ;-/
- Harper's Doctors and Nurses health - Everyone seemed chipper! We got a great team!
- Smooth appointments the week before surgery - All was well!
- A successful first surgery
- Her tracheamalacia - to be fixed during this surgery and that a second surgery isn't needed.
- Hiatal Hernia - that they can tack her stomach down below her diaphragm and that it won't move as they put traction on her esophagus.
- That the two ends of her esophagus would grow quickly so they can repair it/put the ends together sooner.
- That the traction on her esophagus doesn't come out as they pull it - causing another surgery.
- I always pray that things will be better when they open her up than what they had predicted!
We are praying for a successful first surgery! We are relying on Gods grace and strength to see Harper through.Love you all
ReplyDeleteWrote the specific prayers down and am committed to taking them to the feet of our Healer and King!
ReplyDeleteJess, praying for your precious Harper, for you and Shane, the doctors and nurses and for Tinley. God loves Harper even more than you do and He WILL see her (and you) through this. Just like how He met her in her dreams and gave you that beautiful smile, He has her in the palm of His hands. My favorite promise from God that I cling to is 1 Peter 5:10-11:
ReplyDelete"And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, WILL himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen"
